STANISLAW FERNANDES
PHOTOGRAPHY
I became seriously interested in photography when I was in art college. I discovered that my camera was a quick and easy way to capture anything I wanted. Using a camera also helped me look at fine art differently as it added a new dimension to the way I formed my images. Art is all around us so all I had to do was simply frame a scene and press a button. I should mention that none of my photos have been altered. The colours, objects and atmosphere in the townscapes you see are the same as when I photographed them. I always compose my subjects in my viewfinder and I also look for natural atmospheric conditions to enhance my pictures. I have always taken my photos entirely for my own satisfaction. However, for some years now I have also taken photos strictly for commercial use. I use them in my graphic design projects and in my digital illustrations.
Here is a small sample of my photographic work. Some of the images are signs of how humans and time effect our environment and some are straightforward images of places I have visited. Others are of the images of the things that caught my attention.
