Corgi Books - Transworld Publishers, UK
After leaving college, I found two job openings, one in the BBC graphic department and the other as a junior book cover designer at an international publishing company. I chose the publisher as I felt it offered better prospects for me. The publishing company was Transworld Publishers, UK. Sure enough, within eighteen months I became the Art Director of their main imprint, Corgi Books. There I made my first mark in mass market publishing. After four years of doing some innovative changes at Corgi Books I went on to form and head my own design group.

SOLUTION
While I was still working as Art Director at the publishing company I started building the foundation for my own design studio, named Solution. By 1972, I along with my wife, a partner in the business, opened the multi-disciplinary design studio in Soho, London. SOLUTION handled general graphic design, illustration, book packaging, advertising and corporate identity. Our clients were from large corporations right down to individuals seeking our professional skills.

STANISLAW FERNANDES DESIGN
In 1974 we moved to New York City and almost immediately our business took off. The studio solved graphic design and illustration problems for a whole range of clients, publishers, leading advertising agencies and corporations. We worked on everything from pharmaceutical ads to major movie posters.
